The initiating movie for first time watcher on the Korean movie land. This was released in 2001 and was based by a blog post written by Kim Hyo Sik. Director Kwak Jae Yong helmed the production.
 

A perfect date movie that will leave you laughing and loving at the same time.

OVERVIEW

Part 1

Gyeon-woo is an ordinary Engineering student with a typical boy' life.  On his way to visit his aunt who was grieving because of the lost of her son, his life turned upside down after he saved a girl who was uncaringly standing drunk on the brink of the train platform.  Inside the train the girl who seemed to have drowned herself in liquor threw out on an old man's hair and clothing and lost consciousness calling out Gyeon woo "honey", before she fainted.  

Caught in a situation he was left no choice but to take care of the girl and brought her to the nearest hotel.  After being imprisoned and another trip in the same hotel because the girl got drunk again, thus begin the girl and Gyeong woo's unexplainable connection.

The girl is bossy, candid, fury-induced, sweet, sad, and happy... and Gyeon-woo put a lot of patience to deal with her and promised himself he will heal her pain.

The girl loves to write and Gyeon-woo has to bear reading her so called treatments and approve of the ideas she wanted to imply in her stories.

Their relationship deepened as they went to the many memories they shared. 

  

Part 2

But after he met her parents, they stop meeting for a moment until the girl called and asked her to be at her recital and bring a rose because it's their 100 days together.  Now the girl studies at an exclusive girl school, so Gyeon-woo disguised as a delivery boy, sneaked out and hurriedly ran to get past the guard on duty.  Then he gave a rose to her as she was playing Pachelbel's Canon.  

The girl's parents demanded them to break up so they didn't see each other for a while.  Then the girl asked her to meet her again and introduced a man whom her parents want her to date.  When the girl went to the wash room, Gyeon-woo told the girl's date the "10 rules" he should follow to make the girl happy.  That's where the girl realized that no one can understand her better than Gyeon-woo so she chased him and then eventually admitted her feelings.  

10 rules:

1. Don’t ask her to be feminine.

2. Don’t let her drink over three glasses. She’ll beat someone.

3. At a cafe, drink coffee instead of coke or juice.

4. If she hits you, act like it hurts. If it hurts, act like it doesn’t.

5. On your 100th day together give her a rose during her class. She’ll like it a lot.

6. Make sure you learn fencing and squash.

7. Also be prepared to go to prison sometimes.

8. If she says she’ll kill you, don’t take it lightly. You’ll feel better.

9. If her feet hurts, exchange shoes with her.

10. She likes to write, encourage her.

Overtime
 

Then they headed a trip to a mountain where they sat beside a tree, they wrote letters to each other and put it in a time capsule and promised each other to be back again there after two years to read the letters.  

The girl asked Gyeon woo to go to the other side of mountain, and there shouting and crying at the same time she revealed why she can't love him yet.  The two separated ways, and during those days Gyeon-woo was busy writing her love encounter with the girl.  When the time came that they should meet again, he went to the tree site, but the girl was not there.  He opened the time capsule and there he learned that the girl was unhappy because her ex boyfriend died, and the day they met at the train was the day her ex BF died and she went to visit the mother of him.

After a year, the girl visited the tree, and found an old man sitting there.  He asked her if she notice any changes in the tree, but she can't seem to figure it out.  The old man told her then that the tree was hit by a lightning, but was replaced by a young man who said someone will not be happy if the tree will not be there.  Realizing her mistake not to face what she felt for Gyeon woo, the girl tried calling him but to no avail.

After a year, the girl was having a lunch with her ex boyfriend's mother and they were both waiting for her nephew.  As it turned out the nephew was Gyeon-woo-and-her-dead-ex-bf's-cousin, and the girl was the girl, the aunt was wanting Gyeon-woo to date for years...

I think most of us girls, can relate to the pain she was bearing all through out the movie.  It's hard to get over and start a new when your heart gets broken regardless of the reason why.  All of us want "Gyun-woo", a not so perfect man but will be there for us no matter what.
